Summit delegates participate in the 29th Anniversary of EDSA People Power Revolution

Venue: EDSA Monument, EDSA

Optional "Lakbayan Tours" within Metro Manila and environs for Summit delegates
Tour packages to be prepared in partnership with the Department of Tourism. Summit delegates to choose which tour they prefer. Family members of delegates are welcome to join.

  • Presentations: Updates on Government Initiatives to Promote Interests of Overseas Filipinos
    • Enactment of Republic Act 10590 or the "Overseas Voting Act of 2013"
    • Enactment of Republic Act 10364 or the "Expanded Anti- Trafficking in Persons Act of 2012″

  • Visioning for the Filipino Diaspora 2015 and Beyond – Appreciative Inquiry as a tool for "visioning" exercise  to be explained by Main Facilitator

Workshop Session (afternoon)
Sub-theme: Visioning for 2015 and Beyond

  • The delegates will be grouped per region and guided by facilitators and moderators in a Visioning Exercise aimed for the participants who are overseas Filipino community leaders  to come up with their vision for their respective diasporas, objectives, goals and plan of action  towards a common direction for the region and for the Philippines , beyond 2015.

  • For Philippine-based participants, the goal of the Visioning Exercise is to come up with their role and plan of interaction with the Filipino Diaspora to strengthen the socio-cultural-economic ties of the latter with the motherland, beyond 2015.

February 27, 2015 (Thursday)

  • Regional representatives (designated rapporteurs) will present to the plenary the outputs of their respective visioning exercises

Plenary Session (afternoon)
Sub-theme: Dreams Realized in the Diaspora

  • Presentations by successful Filipino diaspora groups and individuals

Closing Ceremony

  • Messages from the Diplomatic Corps and the Multilateral Organizations
