A free online forum for overseas Filipinos with the theme #WeRiseAsOne, the online Ugnayan aims to facilitate discussions on issues and topics relevant to Filipinos in Hawaii especially in this time of pandemic. Particularly, participants will learn topics ranging from the Philippine government’s response to COVID-19 pandemic to the current coping situation of Filipinos in Hawaii and the assistance provided by Filipino organizations to their fellow kababayan; from updates on Philippine travel restrictions for returning Filipinos and visiting foreigners to the latest development on the US 2020 Census and its impact on the Filipino community; and from US immigration services to the programs and services of the CFO for overseas Filipinos.
CFO has invited prominent Filipino community leaders, Presidential Awardees, and experts to discuss about these topics. The event will be hosted by Ms. Annalisa Burgos of KITV 4 Island News Hawaii. It will also be conducted with the support and cooperation of the Philippine Consulate General in Honolulu.
The Online Ugnayan Sa Hawaii is the 4th leg of the CFO Online Ugnayan Series this 2020. It follows the successful conduct of the series in Japan in August, Los Angeles in October, and South Korea in November. Further, the Online Ugnayan Series is the CFO’s response to the new normal brought about by the pandemic. The Commission remains committed in assisting and promoting the welfare of overseas Filipinos by innovating its programs and services.
