On February 14, 2019, the Commission on Filipinos Overseas hosted nine (9) officials from the Ugandan Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development, who are on official visit to Manila. The Delegation was led by H.E. Pius Bigirimana. The Philippines is known globally as a “model in migration governance,” that is why the delegation wanted to learn more how the country manages labor migration, which could help Uganda in crafting its own labor migration policies.

Mr. Rodrigo V. Garcia of the Policy Planning and Research Division, and Ms. Janet Ramos of the Migrant Integration and Education Division, gave a presentation covering CFO’s pre-departure services for migrants, assistance to distressed nationals, Lingkod sa Kapwa Pilipino (Linkapil) Program; 1343 Action Line against Trafficking, among others.
