The Commission on Filipinos Overseas (CFO)’s Quality Management System (QMS) was recertified for ISO 9001:2015 for another three (3) years for all of its processes, having complied with the certifying authority’s international standards of service and excellence, evidence of the agency’s commitment to efficient public service.

ISO 9001:2015 is a globally recognized quality management standard developed and published by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). The certification provides a model for organizations of all types and sizes to use in building an effective quality management system. The standard is based on several quality management principles, including having a strong client/customer focus, involvement of high-level organization management, an outlined process-based approach, and ongoing improvement of the aforementioned approach.

The Commission on Filipinos Overseas’ ISO 9001:2015 certificate (#01-100-1734738) was issued by TUV Rheinland, a world-class management systems certification body. The scope of certification includes all CFO core processes, support processes including ICT support, administrative support and finance services.

Despite all difficulties and challenges brought by the Pandemic, CFO still managed to maintain good quality services, better perspective of customer satisfaction as expected by its interested parties, which are manifested thru different customer surveys / feedback. This is commendable.” This is what TUV Rheinland Philippines’ lead auditor, Mr. Lionell Aala, reported in his team’s Recertification Audit Report for last December 17, 2020.

“This certification is a strong evidence to CFO’s unwavering commitment to consistently deliver quality and efficient service for its clients, the overseas Filipinos, and the general public,” said Justice Francisco P. Acosta (Ret), CFO Secretary and Quality Management Representative, during the online recertification audit with TUV Rheinland.

CFO’s ISO certification process started in 2016, with the assistance of the Development Academy of the Philippines (DAP) in establishing its QMS. The said system was implemented starting 2017. CFO passed the Stage 1 and 2 third-party audit in 2017, and the 1st CFO ISO 9001: 2015 certificate was awarded for 2018-2021. Reassessment third party audit was conducted in 2018, 2019 and 2020, as all CFO components of the established QMS were found to be compliant with ISO standards.
