According to registration data obtained by the Commission on Filipinos Overseas (CFO), there were a total of 115,687 Filipino emigrants bound for Australia from 1988 to 2018. Of these emigrants, 63.62% or 73,605 were female while 36.38% or 42,082 were male.
The emigrant population bound for Australia in this period was very young, with the most dominant age group being 14 years old and below at 27.09% or 31,340. This is followed by 30 to 34-year-olds and 25 to 29-year-olds at 16.84% or 19,480 and 16.52% or 19,114, respectively. Likewise, Filipino emigrants who were 50 years old or older comprised only a little more than 2% of the total Australia-bound Filipino emigrant population.
