The Commission on Filipinos Overseas (CFO) recorded a total of more than 2 million Filipino emigrants worldwide from 1981 to 2018. Around 0.72% of this number are emigrants bound for Germany. According to data spanning three decades starting 1988, there are a total of 16,187 Filipino emigrants en route to Deutschland, 91.1% of whom are female at 14,747 while the rest are males.
The emigrant population in Germany is also relatively young, the most dominating age group being 25- to 29-year old at 27.75% or 4,492 emigrants, followed closely by 20- to 24-year-olds and 30- to 34-year-olds at 20.6% and 20.1% or 3,335 and 3,254 emigrants, respectively. Likewise, Filipino emigrants who are 50-year old or older comprise only a little less than 2% of Germany’s total Filipino emigrant population.
