Did you know? Almost half of the 22,177 Filipino spouses, fiance(e)s, and other partners bound for Japan from 2009 to 2019 originated from the National Capital Region (NCR) at 45.22%. More than 70% were from Districts IV and II at 37.12% and 33.45%, respectively. Districts III and I, on the other hand, accounted for 21.29% and 8.14%.

Bulacan was the top 2 province of origin among Filipino marriage migrants en route to Japan. It followed NCR with a large margin at 6.74% or 1,495. Meanwhile, 1,370 spouses and partners were accounted for by Davao del Sur at 6.18%, 1,328 by Cavite at 5.99%, and 964 by Cebu at 4.35%.

Other provinces of origin included Rizal, Laguna, Nueva Ecija, Pampanga, and Davao del Norte, which altogether comprised 16.35%. These ten Philippine provinces alone accounted for 84.83% of the entire Japan-bound population of Filipino spouses and other partners of foreign nationals.
