Did you know? Ninety-six percent of the 22,177 marriage migrants en route to Japan from 2009 to 2019 were female, while only 890 were male at 4.01%.

Japan-bound Filipino spouses, fiancé(e)s, and other partners of foreign nationals were also relatively young at the time of registration. More than half of them ranged between the ages of 20 to 29. Six thousand eight hundred twelve Filipino migrants aged 25 to 29 comprised 30.72% of the population. They were closely followed by 5,943 spouses and partners aged 20 to 24 at 26.80%.

Meanwhile, 30- to 34-year-olds made up 9.54% of all Japan-bound Filipino migrants at 2,115, 40- to 44-year-olds 5.37% at 1,190, and 15- to 19-year-olds 4.43% at 982. The 404 Filipino spouses and partners aged 50 or older comprised very little of the population at 1.82%.
