Did you know that 149,353 of the approximately 500,000 Filipino emigrants bound for Canada from 1988 to 2018 were from Metro Manila? Most of those from within the region originated from Districts II and IV at 43.03% and 28.67%, followed by the Districts I and III at 16.15% and 12.15%, respectively.

Following Metro Manila were the Top 2 and 3 origin provinces of Cavite and Pangasinan, comprising 5.72% and 5.02% of all Canada-bound Filipino emigrants at 27,464 and 24,134. They were followed closely by Laguna at 4.68% or 22,497, Pampanga at 4.40% or 21,150, and Rizal at 4.16% or 19,994. Other central provinces of origin included Batangas, Bulacan, Cebu, and Benguet. These ten Philippine provinces alone accounted for 68.96% of all Canada-bound Filipino emigrants during this period.
