Did you know? According to registration data from CFO, more than half of the 16,187 Filipino emigrants to Germany from 1988 to 2018 originated from ten Philippine provinces alone. Most Filipino emigrants to Germany were residents of Metro Manila at 29.7% or 4,808. More than two-thirds were from Districts II and IV at 34.36% and 33.097%, respectively. Cebu followed Metro Manila with a reasonably large margin at 12% or 1,942.
Meanwhile, the provinces of Davao del Sur, Pampanga, and Cavite altogether were the source of about a tenth of Germany-bound emigrants at 10.3%. Each accounted for an average number of 556 Filipino emigrants, comprising 3.43% of the total emigrant population to Germany in 1988-2018.
Lastly, Rizal, Negros Occidental, Pangasinan, Laguna, and Bulacan were the origins of an average of 2.55% or 413 Filipino emigrants. These top ten provinces of origin accounted for 10,480 or 64.74% of the Filipino emigrant population en route to Germany in the said period.
