According to registration data gathered by CFO, almost a third of Filipino emigrants to Italy from 1988 to 2019 were residents of the province of Batangas. Twelve thousand eight hundred fifty-one or 30.86% originated from Batangas, while 5,807 emigrants or 13.94% were from the National Capital Region (NCR) and 3,706 or 8.90% from Laguna.
On the other hand, Tarlac, Ilocos Sur, Pangasinan, and Pampanga each shared 4.35%, on average, of the total Filipino emigrants to Italy in 1988-2019. Other central provinces of origin included Cavite, Oriental Mindoro, and Quezon. These ten Philippine provinces alone accounted for 80.09% of the Filipino emigrant population to Italy for over three decades.
