Did you know? There were slightly more male Filipino emigrants to Italy in 1988-2019 than female. Twenty-two thousand nine hundred fifty-nine male emigrants comprised 55.12%, while female emigrants only made up 44.88% of the Filipino emigrant population to Italy in the said period.
The Filipino emigrant population to Italy was also very young. More than half of Filipino emigrants to Italy from 1988 to 2019 were aged 19 years or younger. Twelve thousand two hundred seventy-four children of age 14 or below comprised the most significant portion at 29.47%. They were followed closely by 9,796 15- to 19-year-olds at 23.52%.
The next major age groups after 19-year-old and younger Filipino emigrants were 25- to 39-year-olds, accounting for 28.24%. Meanwhile, emigrants aged 55 years or older made up only as little as 3.50% of the Filipino emigrant population to Italy in 1988-2019.
