Did you know? According to data gathered by CFO from 1988 to 2018, most Filipino emigrants to South Korea were female. More than 15,000 Filipino emigrants were female at 97.58%, while the remaining 400 were male at 2.32%.
Moreover, the great majority of South Korea-bound Filipino emigrants were in their 20s. The most dominant age group was 20- to 24-year-olds at 40.94%, with a count of 6,586. It was followed closely by 4,853 25- to 29-year-olds at 30.17%. Together, they made up more than 70% of the Filipino emigrant population en route to South Korea in 1988-2018.
In contrast, Filipino emigrants aged 45 or older comprised only less than 1% of the total Filipino emigrant population in South Korea in the said period.
