Did you know? There were 16,083 Filipino emigrants en route to the UK from 1988 to 2019, 25.03% of which originated from Metro Manila at 4,024. More than two-thirds resided in Districts II and IV at 36.86% or 1,483 and 34.12% or 1,373, respectively, while 16.30% were from District I and 12.72% from District III.
According to registration data, the top provinces of origin among UK-bound Filipino emigrants after Metro Manila were Cebu at 10.64% or 1,711, and Pampanga at 5.01% or 806. Cavite followed them at 4.63% or 745, and Pangasinan at 3.71% or 597. These five Philippine provinces alone accounted for almost half of the UK-bound Filipino emigrant population in the said period.
Other provinces of origin included Rizal, Laguna, Davao del Sur, Bulacan, and Negros Occidental, each accounting for about 2.80% of the total number of UK-bound Filipino emigrants in 1988-2019.
